This weekend our family visited the Citrus Historic State Park in Riverside. One thing they pointed out in the museum is that the citrus industry was every bit as important to the development of California as the discovery of Gold up North. The park is beautiful, well worth a visit. I photographed this indoors, so is not real sharp. SOLD
You will have to bear with me. I have a few more Gilroy paintings left in me! Now that we live in the mountains where we have nothing but twisty roads and tall trees, I am enamoured with open spaces and straight rows!
, produce is in abundance, fields full of cabbages, strawberries, mustard and other greens. We drove up the center of the state to Gilroy - Garlic capital of the Nation and home of my husband's parents. I enjoyed taking time off from visiting with family, shopping with my girls at the outlets and eating very authentic Mexican food, to paint in the fields. Here the poppies dot the green hill sides with Oak trees along the ridge.
Monday I had some time to kill in Redland's so decided to wander around the old down town neighbourhood with my camera. This little house caught my eye. It is by no means the fanciest house on the block, but sure was inviting.
