Yesterday I did some painting at Bracken Fern Manor - an interesting place in a little canyon near Lake Arrowhead. It was built by Chicago gangster Bugsy Segal in the 1920's - as a private club complete with gambling, booze, brothel and secret tunnels. It was active till some time after WWII and has fascinating gangster history - forced take overs etc.So, here it is today as a quiet inn.
