Stopover on Route 66
This is not a daily painting, but will be the next to upload on my website (if I can get Frontpage to work - it is being difficult). I completed it first this morning, then had to dive right into a commission.

Hesperia Airport
Yesterday I went out to the tiny Hesperia Airport, with friends, Helga and Wilma, to take photos to work from for next Saturday's Art/Wine/Jazz festival. I've never seen such a small airport. It really consists of a pink 50's diner - featured here, a motel of similar time period and a hanger, plus various sheds. Everyone there was very nice though. One man did a flyover just for us so we could capture his plane in motion.

California Heritage
I am becoming more and more interested in California's past, vestiges of which are slipping away. This is the Bryn Mawr Citrus Packing house. The citrus industry really made California what it is - the real gold rush.

Snow Balls
There was a large snow ball shrub next the the fence in the back yard when I was a girl. I remember picking the blooms, holding them in my cupped hands like new baby chicks, brushing the soft petals against my face. Later, my friend Laura and I would toss them up into the air and whack at them with our badminton rackets, sending white petals everywhere.
